 merican Studies invite you to participate in the 2nd National Scientific Co
 nference "Conflict, freedom, power".\nWHEN?\nThe conference will be held on
  Friday, April 11, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. online on the Micr
 osoft Teams platform.\nThe exact length of the conference depends on the nu
 mber of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve
  the right to extend the conference to Saturday, April 12, 2025.\nWHAT IS T
 HE CONFERENCE ABOUT?\nThe main idea of ​​the conference is an interdiscipli
 nary discussion focused on three topics: conflict, freedom and power - both
  collectively and individually - from the perspective of social sciences an
 d humanities, such as law, psychology, sociology, cultural studies, media s
 tudies, philosophy, political science, anthropology or economics.\nSpeeches
  may concern contemporary times as well as history and cover any selected g
 eographical areas (Poland, Europe, the world).\nPROPOSED (EXAMPLE) THEMATIC
  AREAS\n•History and sociology of conflict.\n•Different views on freedom.\n
 •Power. What is it? What should it be?\n•Which authority is best? Democraci
 es, authoritarianisms and other systems.\n•Conflict and democracy: challeng
 es to freedom and power.\n•Freedom in the digital age: threats and opportun
 ities.\n•Power and human rights: relationships and challenges.\n•Freedom of
  speech versus media regulation.\n•Multiculturalism: conflicts and opportun
 ities for dialogue.\n•Education for freedom: the role of the educational sy
 stem.\n•Ethnic conflicts and minority rights.\n•Power in social media.\n•Ch
 allenges for human rights in crisis situations.\n•Social movements: fight f
 or equality and freedom.\nThe thematic areas indicated above are examples o
 nly - we strongly encourage you to go beyond their framework.\nMoreover, th
